Honey Simple Syrup
If you love crafting fun, unique cocktails, and want a delicious twist on simple syrup, try Honey Simple Syrup! It adds classic honey flavour to your favourite drink, and complements many different spirits to create your own signature cocktails.
How to use Honey Simple Syrup
You can use Honey Simple Syrup in any cocktail that calls for Simple Syrup. I suggest cocktails that have smoky, bitter, acidic, or dry flavours.
Here are my suggestions for spirits that would pair well with this syrup:
- Bourbon
- Champagne or sparkling wine
- Gin
- Limoncello – Try my Limonette Cocktail!
Some Honey Simple Syrup variations
What I love about this recipe, is that you can use whatever honey you have. Make it your own! For my recipe, I used pasteurized creamed honey, because that is what I had on hand. Liquid honey is also good.
Because honey tastes different depending on where it was harvested, this syrup will be completely unique to your situation.
You can also buy flavored honey, such a honey flavored with a touch of lavender, or chamomile, for example.
Hot Honey would also make incredible, amazing cocktails! Try Honey Simple Syrup, made with hot honey, mixed into a Bourbon Sour. Fantastic!
