This elegant cocktail is shaken with ice and poured into your favourite cocktail glass. Make it fancy with a coupe or martini glass! Then, Limonette is topped with club soda, which adds a bubbly dimension and extra crispness. It’s easy to sip and goes down smooth.

What are the ingredients for this limoncello cocktail?

Limoncello — the star of this cocktail! I used one from a local distillery.

Gin – I used Empress 1908 Elderflower Rose gin, with balances the acidity in the lemon

Vermouth – I used dry white vermouth which also balances the lemon, honey, and gin flavors.

Lemon – Freshly squeezed lemon juice is essential!

Honey syrup – This is so easy to make, it takes mere minutes. Once it’s cool, you can start adding it to cocktails. Here’s the recipe for Honey Simple Syrup.

Club soda – To finish off this cocktail and make it literally sparkly, top it up with club soda.

Garnish – I like to garnish this simply with a lemon peel. A fun variation: Rim your cocktail glass with sugar by wetting the edge of the glass with a wedge of lemon, and dipping the glass upside-down into some sparkle sugar.

Limonette Cocktail variations

To play with the flavors of this cocktail, you can try variations on some of the ingredients.

You can use regular London Dry gin for the gin component. While this gin brings more herbal, and beautiful bitter notes, it still makes a balanced, delicious drink.

Try substituting the honey syrup for simple syrup.

Instead of club soda, try topping up the cocktail with a dry sparkling wine, or a citrusy soda.
