Let’s talk about the ingredients for Sesame Almonds
Natural almonds — Are just waiting for you to add the flavour! You can buy big bags of them at warehouse clubs for not much money, and they last a long time in your pantry. Feel free to experiment with your favourite nuts.
Brown sugar – I chose brown sugar as the sweetener because I like the molasses-y tang. You could also use honey or maple syrup as the sweetener.
Sesame seeds – I used 1 tablespoon, but you could use more if you want them even more crusted.
Red pepper flakes – I used Korean red pepper flakes, and only ½ teaspoon but there’s tons of room in the recipe to add more if you like more heat!
Kosher salt – I usually use Diamond Crystal kosher salt which is less salty and melts well. If you’re using a coarser salt, keep in mind you might want to use a little less.
Sesame oil, soy sauce, and rice vinegar – All these add a wonderful acidity and umami flavour to the nuts.

Can Sesame Almonds be Gluten-Free?
Yes! The substitute I would make would be to use Tamari instead of soy sauce, for a gluten-free version.
