Sesame Almonds

Savory and slightly sweet, Sesame Almonds are a great party snack that can be made in about 20 minutes! Caramelized, with that yummy toasted sesame flavour, add these spicy almonds to any cocktail party for an amazing pairing with your favourite mixed drink.

Equipment

  • saucepan small
  • Sheet pan
  • parchment paper or silicone mat

Ingredients

  • 1 cup natural almonds
  • 1 Tablespoon dark brown sugar
  • 1 Tablespoon sesame seeds
  • ½ teaspoon kosher salt
  • 1 teaspoon rice vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon toasted sesame oil
  • 1 teaspoon soy sauce
  • ½ teaspoon red pepper flakes

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 350°F. Prepare a sheet pan by lining with parchment paper, or a silicone mat.
  • In a small pot over medium heat, add all of the ingredients.
  • Stir until sugar has melted and the almonds are coated in the sesame seeds; about 2 minutes.
  • Spread coated nuts in a single layer on the sheet pan.
  • Bake for 10-15 minutes.
  • Let cool completely before breaking nuts apart, and adding to a serving dish.
  • Nuts will keep in a sealed container for about a week.
