Blood Orange Negroni Sour is a bright and frothy twist on the classic cocktail. This beautiful gin sour combines freshly squeezed citrus with aperol, vermouth, with a touch of bitters for a unique and elegant drink.

Equipment

  • cocktail shaker

Ingredients

  • 2 oz Aperol
  • 1 oz gin
  • ½ oz sweet vermouth or red vermouth
  • 2 oz blood orange juice freshly squeezed
  • ½ oz lemon juice freshly squeezed
  • ½ oz egg white
  • 4-5 dashes bitters

Instructions

  • Put all ingredients into a cocktail shaker with ice (see note).
  • Shake vigorously for about 1 minute, or until cocktail is light and frothy.
  • Strain into a coupe glass.
  • Garnish with a slice of blood orange. Enjoy!

Notes

When shaking, you can alternatively shake without ice at first to get an even stronger foam from the egg whites, and then shake again with ice until chilled.
