Easy Homemade Cranberry Sauce! It only takes 15 minutes and you can make it up to a week ahead of your holiday meal. This recipe also featues orange zest, cinnamon, and orange liqueur.

- 1 cup water
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 12 oz whole cranberries or 340g, fresh or frozen
- Zest From ½ a navel orange
- 1/8 teaspoon cinnamon
- 2 teaspoons Grand Marnier liqueur Optional

Boil water In a large pot over high heat. When the water is boiling, add the sugar and stir until dissolved.
When the sugar is dissolved, add the cranberries, orange zest, cinnamon, and liqueur, and stir to combine.
Reduce heat to medium and cook for 10-13 minutes, or until all the cranberries have popped.
Remove from heat and set aside to cool for about an hour, then refrigerate until completely chilled – about 2-3 hours.
Cooking with fresh cranberries — note that these berries release a lot of bright red juice that can stain wooden utensils, cutting boards, bowls, etc. Keep that in mind while cooking and serving this delicious sauce!
