Mixing bowl
- 1 thin baguette
- 1 clove garlic cut in half
- 1 tablespoon butter melted
- 500 g shaved roast beef or 1 lb
- 1 cup crème fraiche chilled
- 1/2 lemon juiced and zested
- 2 Tablespoons prepared horseradish
- ½ teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
- Salt & pepper
- 1 bunch green onions sliced thin
Prepare crostinis
Preheat oven to 350°F. Prepare crostinis by slicing the baguette into ½” slices. Melt the butter and brush each slice with butter, and then rub each slice with a garlic clove cut in half.
Place prepared slices on a cooling rack on top of a sheet pan. Toast in the oven for 10 minutes and then remove to cool slightly.
Prepare whipped crème fraiche
In a mixing bowl, add chilled crème fraiche. Using a hand mixer, whip until soft peaks form. Gently fold in horseradish, lemon juice & zest, Worcestershire sauce, and salt & pepper until completely mixed, being careful not to stir too vigorously or the crème fraiche will deflate.
Assemble crostinis
Take a toasted crostini and spread on a tablespoon of the whipped crème fraiche.
Top with a small pile of roast beef. Add a small dollop of more whipped crème fraiche and then top with sliced green onions.
Serve immediately.
